Donna Mondi on Jiun Ho
For interior designer Donna Mondi, there’s always one showroom she beelines for when on the hunt for some creative and innovative foe her projects, and that’s Jiun Ho.
Designer Donna Mondi’s passion for interiors is deeply rooted in the journey of discovery. The Chicago and Denver-based designer draws inspiration from her global travels and immersive design experiences. When in New York, 200 Lex is instrumental in meeting her design expectations, offering a diverse range of brands and products under one roof. But, while she loves exploring the building, she always starts her day here: “Jiun Ho has always been my favorite showroom, and I am always left inspired and energized, armed with samples and tearsheets for my projects.”
A devout client of the Jiun Ho showroom, Donna has long been inspired by the curated collections, most recently drawn to the works of JG Switzer’s wool felt art. These unique textiles—discovered at WNWN—bring another layer of artistry to the showroom’s eclectic contemporary flair. Here we went off the cuff with designer to find out where she stands on all-things design, quality and women of course.
Mantra… Rebellious and reverent – know when to choose which.
I’m a firm believer in… quality over quantity.
The world needs more... compassion (and black leather)
Design is… essential at any level.
200 Lex gives me… all the feels!
I can’t live without my… two French Bulldogs and #MrRight.
For me, good design looks like… vintage + modern + edgy artwork.
Women are… fierce and soft at the same time.
Women can...run the world, but we wouldn’t want to do it without men by our side.
Women will…always surprise you.
I am…resilient, determined, and hungry.
