Frampton Co x The Rug Company
The Rug Company headed out east for a fete to celebrate Elena Frampton’s bespoke design Undercover.
The Rug Company kicked off summer in Bridgehampton with Elena Frampton celebrating her bespoke design Undercover. Frampton Co’s Barn gallery space showcased a unique wall display featuring a curation of Rug Company designs and a Paul Smith runner rosé bar. Guests sipped Ev&Em wine and Lorenza Rose Spritz while mingling with attendees and enjoyed Sunday Riley gift bags.
When The Rug Company invited Elena Frampton to collaborate on a bespoke rug design, it presented the opportunity to work with one of her favorite brands, and on top of that, to design with carte blanche. Naturally, she created a rug truly unlike any other.
Frampton’s bespoke rug, Undercover, marries optical illusion with traditional ornamentation, as a floral-patterned rug appears to peel back from the floor at opposing corners. “I wanted to do something a little differently,” says Elena. “We typically see rugs as a purely decorative element, and I wanted to think about them in a more architectural way.”
Echoing the inspiration behind Undercover, the Optic Garden summer showcase exhibition design recontextualizes form, function, and decoration. Featuring rug designs by Alexander McQueen, Diane von Furstenberg, Rodarte, Mary Katrantzou, Paul Smith, Sarabande, and The Rug Company as well as contemporary paintings by Christine Keefe, and ceramics by Kalya O’Donoghue. The Optic Garden summer showcase is on display through July 26th open to the public Thursdays and Fridays from 11 AM – 5 PM or by appointment.
