Giving the world just what it needs—The Rug Company and designer Ken Fulk deliver some much-needed Divine Inspiration in their new collaboration.
What do you get when an esteemed British heritage rug brand collabs with a wild West Coast designer known for his double-take interiors? Magic, of course! That magic materialized when The Rug Company teamed up with Ken Fulk for debut collection, Divine Inspiration. Affectionately referred to as the magic factory, creating enchanting spaces and richly layered interiors is second nature for San Francisco and New York-based interior designer Ken Fulk. And his stunning rug collection follows form.
“This collection was inspired by our shared search for meaning—through art, music, nature, and reflection. These rugs weren’t designed to simply look beautiful, but to facilitate meaningful conversations.”-Ken Fulk
Intended for residential and commercial spaces, each design is fully customizable and available in a vast range of qualities, colors, and materials. The collection can also be created as wall-to-wall installations and stair runners, depending on the client’s wants and wishes. Taking inspiration from Fulk’s enchanting portfolio, Divine Inspiration is showcased in five distinct projects along the California coastline and each design transports you into an otherworldly realm. Amplifying the many rituals created to celebrate the joy of life through reflection, storytelling, imagination, music, nature, and congregating with a shared intention, Divine Intervention is just that—a gentle reminder of the beauty all around us.

In true Fulk fashion, the characters and creatures in Surrealist Garden create an imaginative story through their fantastical elements. The dreamlike scene holds numerous discoveries based on folklore and allegory with inspiration rooted in tribal pictorial rugs.
Saint Joe’s Dome explores the differing perspectives and narratives of Fulk’s Saint Joseph’s Arts Foundation, based in a historic San Francisco church. Restored in 2019 by Fulk, the space is now a cultural organization dedicated to elevating shared human experience by supporting artists and cultivating creativity and conversation. Encapsulated in the all-wool design, the loose illustration of the central dome represents an uplifting view of the transportive experience of gathering to celebrate shared rituals.
Sonic Wave’s organic lines and dynamic style create a captivating and peaceful escape through a display of sound waves and kinetic energy. The ribboning movement, inspired by the vibrations of sound frequency, demonstrates how music and sound can lift spirits.
Zellige examines the visual tension between mathematical tessellations and traditional Moorish tilemaking techniques. The black and white checkering design intertwines with the colorful mosaic inlays in a modern twist on classic Moroccan tile patterns. The result is a colorful mix of cultures, design, and style references from Casablanca to Córdoba.
A Life Reflected, inspired by Delft tiles, celebrates the small joys of everyday life with each tile’s capability to be made entirely custom. Made to order, this design offers a participatory element by creating one’s own textile narrative through a bespoke rug.
