Introducing a New Virtual Lecture Series: “View from the Veranda”
This month, the New York Design Center in partnership with Design Centre Chelsea Harbour and The Horticultural Society of New York (The Hort), is introducing a new virtual lecture series titled, “View from the Veranda.”
The series will invite experts from London, New York, and beyond, to share their perspectives on global design as it relates to the outdoors and the intersection of indoor-outdoor living. Beginning Monday, December 14, 2020, each conversation will be hosted via Zoom and moderated by Steele Marcoux, Editor in Chief of Veranda Magazine.
“After the tremendous success of our partnership with The Hort, Design Centre Chelsea Harbour and Veranda Magazine for both What’s New, What’s Next and Focus/20, we are thrilled to continue the conversation by bringing the international design community together for this compelling new series,” said Jim Druckman, President/CEO of The New York Design Center. “Steele’s dedication, knowledge and insight on design and each of the series guests, a range of cross-industry visionaries, is sure to inform, inspire, and entertain.”
The series’ first guests will be Mario Nievera and Keith Williams of leading landscape architectural firm, Nievera Williams. Together they will discuss what outdoor living means today, how open-air spaces can be used for gathering or as a much-needed escape, and what lies ahead for the future of landscape and garden design. The duo will share images from their recently completed projects and showcase excerpts from William’s newly released book, “The Graphic Garden,” published by The Pointed Leaf Press.
“View from the Veranda” will consist of lectures through 2020 and 2021, which are free and open to all. The series kick-off with Mario Nievera and Keith Williams is scheduled for Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11 am EST. RSVP here.
