Women in Design
A Look Back at 200 Lex’s Celebration of Women in Design
Throughout the month of March, The New York Design Center is celebrating Women in Design, both digitally and in person. Last week, on March 12th, over 700 guests joined the showrooms of 200 Lex for a day of inspiring programming and shopping, all honoring the extraordinary women who shape 200 Lex and the broader design industry.
The daylong event highlighted the many female-owned, designed, and influenced showrooms within the building, invited attendees to explore and shop. Throughout the day, guests engaged in panel discussions centered around key themes such as Women in Business, Wellness, and Art alongside curated workshops showcasing collections created by women and female artisans.
This year’s speakers included Alexa Hampton, Bella Mancini, Sarah Wragge, Jill Cohen, Keita Turner, Suzanne Lovell, and Jacqueline Terrebonne. Our participating partners- ELLE DECOR, Luxe Magazine, Galerie Magazine, and The Gold Collective—helped bring this inspiring event to life, fostering meaningful conversations, networking opportunities, and fresh perspectives.
Beyond the event, The New York Design Center remains committed to amplifying the voices of women in design through our dedicated Women in Design digital newsletter series and an expanded collection of editorial features. From an exclusive interview series to compelling video spotlights on female founders, these stories celebrate the creativity, leadership, and influence of the remarkable women who make 200 Lex so special.
This annual celebration is a testament to the strength, innovation, and leadership of women in the design industry. By recognizing participating showrooms, facilitating insightful discussions, and fostering community connections, Women in Design not only honors past and present achievements but also serves as an inspiration for the future of design.
