Phillip Thomas VIP Collectors Lounge at the 2023 edition of Salon Art + Design
Interior Designer Phillip Thomas has created an inspired space for the VIP Collectors Lounge at the 2023 edition of Salon Art + Design; transforming the historic Colonel’s Reception Room at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City into the “Colonel’s Cabinet of Curiosities”. On view from November 9-13, visitors will delight in the reimagined space filled with prized furniture, art, and objects from around the globe. The space features pieces from 200 Lex showrooms Donzella Ltd. and Lobel Modern NYC.
Paying attention to the notable aspects and overall proportions of the space, Thomas commissioned artist Andrew Tedesco, of Andrew Tedesco Studios Inc. to make several Trompe l’oeil bright orange wall panels and the decorative artist Phillip Bland to create a hand painted graphic sisal carpet. The lounge is an inviting environment featuring inventive seating areas filled and adorned with furniture, lighting, and accessories.
Thomas has curated a layered and sophisticated setting marrying classical and modern genres in one beautiful upbeat space. Every element celebrates the idea of the home as the showcase for a life well lived.
The items from Donzella include the Xanto bronze benches Alexander Loge, birth nesting tables by Arriau, and a machine age aluminum lounge chair by Warren McArthur
