Paving the Way with Joy Young of Townhouse Kitchens
The New York Design Center is constantly inspired by the talented women in our design industry. Throughout the month of March, we are celebrating some of these remarkable women who continue to make a lasting impact through our “Women In Design: Paving the Way” video series. This week, we sat down in the Townhouse Kitchens Showroom (suite 916) with owner and kitchen designer Joy Young.
Townhouse Kitchens was established in 2013 with the opening of its showroom in the New York Design Center in New York City. Specializing in kitchen interior design and custom-made cabinetry, they can also take on other areas of the home upon request.
Collaborations are a huge part of the way Townhouse works, always embracing working with architects, designers, and contractors. Recognizing the best projects happen when creative brains get together, there is also always an emphasis on thoroughly thinking through all the desires of a homeowner. Townhouse’s process usually starts with an interior designer, architect, or contractor who has an appreciation of their technical skills with site measuring, Architectural CAD drawings and job site coordination. They also never shy away from being a client’s first contact.
Townhouse Kitchens is unique in its pursuit of complete beginning-to-end services to achieve a timely and complete kitchen install. They believe that a close relationship with a contractor and close attention to the construction site before kitchen cabinetry delivery go a long way towards a successful installation. Townhouse Kitchens’ construction site support service truly sets them apart from our industry competitors.
