Celebrating A Day of Design with 200 Lex
The New York Design Center hosted its annual Day of Design on May 21st as part of the NYCxDESIGN Festival. The day long celebration brought together the design community through an engaging lineup of events, including panel discussions, open houses, and showroom debuts. Designers, editors, and industry professionals gathered to explore fresh ideas, emerging trends, and new collections from the leading brands in the industry.
Among the standout moments were the debut of Rose Uniacke’s Collection Ten at R Hughes, a live preview of Tom Faulkner’s sculptural Wave Dining Table, a vibrant open house hosted by Benjamin Moore celebrating color and seasonal inspiration, and a special preview of the Melted Collection in John Pomp Studios. Sossego presented a morning talk with Brazilian designer Aristeu Pires, while Pom Rugs introduced a new Coastal Collection of sustainable hand-woven rugs. Additionally, Cliff Young Ltd. hosted a riveting CEU in collaboration with the Thayer Coggin team, and Kravet Workspace hosted over 20 students from the University of Georgia, introducing them to the world of interior design and offering valuable industry insights.
Showrooms throughout the building participated with curated experiences, and new product showcases, including LEPERE, The Rug Company, Kaia Lighting, Konekt, and Wexler Gallery. We also celebrated the opening of two new showrooms at 200 Lex: Wells Abbott and Astek. Guests left the building filled with excitement and inspiration from a wonderful Day of Design.
