“In crafting this collection, I sought to create something distinctly personal that embodies our studio’s aesthetic vision,” says Alfredo Paredes. “The rugs feature an eclectic interplay of textures and tones that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary settings. Drawing inspiration from my Cuban heritage and Miami roots, I incorporated unexpected color combinations and materials that bring an artistic dimension to any room.”

Paredes’ creative direction led to a thoughtful and collaborative design process. The resulting pieces reflect his love of bold, graphic patterns and enduring design elements. Done in a variety of luxurious materials, vibrant colors, and interesting constructions, the rugs are all meticulously crafted by hand and feel like found treasures while also being utterly modern.

“Bold graphics and enduring details have always captivated me—from vintage book covers to classic menswear patterns and heritage rugs that tell their own stories,” Paredes continues. “Working with Patterson Flynn, I’ve translated these inspirations into a collection that feels both fresh and timeless. While the materials, textures, and colors adapt seamlessly to different environments, each piece is designed to evoke the sense of a cherished find, carefully curated over years of collecting.”

Pamela Marshall, Patterson Flynn’s Creative Director, shared her perspective on the collaboration, emphasizing the attention to detail and commitment to quality that went into each design. “Alfredo had no shortage of exciting design inspiration,” she says. “It became clear early on that our mission was to think critically about matching each idea to the perfect combination of fibers, construction, and color, and that each part of the process would be done by hand. We experimented with dyeing and finishing to bring out the warmth of the materials while still maintaining their luxury. Each piece feels like a time-worn textile, yet still modern in design and color.”

Marshall continues, “The resulting collection reflects the aesthetic that Alfredo does so well; earthy, handsome, with a little bit of glamour thrown in—by all definitions, truly decadent.”
