What sources found at 200 Lex are used in the room?

Kravet: Sofa and fabrics including drapery and pillows
Brown Jordan: All loggia furniture including Walter Lamb Rockers, Still collection sofa, chairs and tables.
Benjamin Moore: Paint in front gallery entrance
The Shade Store: All window coverings and hardware
David Sutherland Showroom: Planters on loggia

What did you enjoy most about designing this room specifically?

I was also thrilled and honored to have the front loggia and gallery entrance as both are really the gateway to the entire home.  The 13-foot ceilings offer so much possibility! I am creating a space to welcome visitors with the lively loggia filled with colorful Brown Jordan furniture and vintage fixtures.

What is your favorite aspect of the finished room?

My favorite aspect of this room and any room I design is watching it all come together.  But I couldn’t do it without my brand partners like Brown Jordan who were fantastic to work with.  We used multiple pieces in different color ways. And then the painted wallpaper on the ceiling of the gallery entrance by Porter Teleo is a showstopper. The Kravet sofa upholstered in my Nadia Watts Gem Collection fabric ties the whole room together and completes our color story. It’s amazing how the teal print pulls in our wall color and our ceiling wall paper!

What do you want people to feel in (or about) the room?

I appreciate and understand that I am truly the entry to the entire showhouse and I took that seriously. We titled our room “the lively loggia and the jeweled gallery,” so I want people to feel excitement when they walk up to the show house.  I want them to feel inspired, alive and curious of what’s to come next.

What is the first thing you do when designing a new room?

My ideas are often running rampant in my head so I focus on getting those ideas in order, down on paper and communicating them to my team.  I often start with fabrics to start my color story and then it flows from there.

What are your favorite resources at 200 Lex?

Honestly, I have so many! Incollect is an amazing source for art and I love working with FAIR as I appreciate their modern, elevated craftsmanship. They feature amazing artisans and the furniture is handcrafted and absolutely beautiful.

Are there any design trends you tapped into or are forecasting that are included in your room?

Celestial colors and saturated Jewel tones play a huge part in my rooms.  Pinks, Yellows, Greens, Blues… evoking drama with a sense of calm.

What is your personal favorite design element in your room?

The Gallery Rug brings the whole space to life.  I had the pleasure of designing it with Retorra Rugs and I am absolutely in love with it.

Did you have any specific inspiration in mind when designing your space?

My great-great-grandfather was Louis Comfort Tiffany of Tiffany Studios Glass.  His gift and appreciation for color and pattern inspire everything I do and this space was no exception. From the paint and wallcoverings to the art and fabrics, it’s all inspired by the rich colors and romantic essence of Tiffany Glass.

Why did you decide to participate in the Kips Bay Showhouse?

I am a big believer in the right things happening at the right time… in the right place… with the right people.  The team behind Kips Bay and the designers who participate in Kips Bay are a head above, fabulous people make for an amazing experience and a really good time.
