NATURAL CURIOSITIES INTRODUCES 70 NEW WORKS FOR SPRING
After 25 years of discovery, craftsmanship, and creativity, NATURAL CURIOSITIES, the renowned Los Angeles-based art house founded by Christopher Wilcox, will have its first home in New York City in Suite 432 of teh New York Design Center.
The company proudly announces the opening of its flagship showroom at the New York Design Center in Spring 2026. Both gallery and working studio, the jewel-box atelier captures the essence of the art house. It offers the design community an intimate, immersive experience of the brand’s layered aesthetic and unwavering commitment to artistry.
Marking this pivotal moment, Sera Wilcox has stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new era of thoughtful leadership. At the same time, members of the next generation of the Wilcox family are formally embracing the business as their own future, reinforcing its legacy and long-term vision.
Christopher Wilcox continues in his role as Creative Director, expanding the art house’s offerings.
“The company is expanding with intention and quiet momentum,” says Sera Wilcox. “The New York flagship is our most visible evolution to date. It’s a statement of growth, permanence, and creative clarity – as well as an invitation to designers to experience NATURAL CURIOSITIES firsthand.”
Aiding NATURAL CURIOSITIES in its growth strategy, including the New York showroom opening, is Mitchell Gold, co-founder of the renowned home furnishings brand Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. Serving as senior consultant, Gold brings decades of experience in scaling design brands, developing strong showroom presence, and building organizational depth that sustains long-term growth.
NATURAL CURIOSITIES will bring more than 1,000 original works to New York – tucked into the drawers of the studio’s white oak worktables as well as featured pieces on its signature Walls of Wonder, inspiring curations of exquisite art. The studio will also include full in-house framing capabilities.
Walls of Wonder
“Through the Walls of Wonder, the depth and soul of NATURAL CURIOSITIES become something you can see, touch, and feel,” says Christopher. Each wall is a curated story: Drawn from history, contemporary influence, and the natural world, they are built from rare finds and artisan-made pieces. One example of a well-loved find: the Couture Atelier Collection, a collection of over 70 Parisian archive works that found their way into legendary fashion ateliers, where history, craft, and contemporary vitality converge.
NATURAL CURIOSITIES can bring a Wall of Wonder to life as a complete creative vision. Or it can build one in closecollaboration with a designer or collector. “A Wall of Wonder does not decorate a space,” says Christopher. “It transforms it.”
Devoted to Every Detail
The company is built on the belief that most important for an art house isn’t its inventory, but its
partnerships. That belief lives in a team that anticipates what projects need, as well as:
- full specifying capability that lets clients take a project from discovery to framing in a single working session
- a suite of digitized artwork adaptation services that lets clients resize, recolor, and shape works to meet the precisedemands of any space
- A custom framing service, where each piece is created with full sensitivity to its setting
And above all, it lives in the company’s long-term relationships with designers, collectors, and discerning businesses – the truemeasure of the art house’s work. “We are passionate about every detail, in the art we create and how we work with our clients,” says Sera. “Art is felt and those feelings are transferred. It’s the same for the care we bring to every relationship. We don’t complete projects. We build partnerships. This is what you’ll experience at our New York showroom.”
A Family Affair
Christopher Wilcox built NATURAL CURIOSITIES. Sera Wilcox joined him and became its first CEO. She is now growing it into something larger: an art house in full creative expansion, guided by a value system as deliberate as its archive: thoughtfully customized, intentionally collaborative, and designed for longevity.
As a former executive chef and accomplished food stylist, Sera built her early career around composition, texture, color, and visual storytelling—disciplines that now inform her vision in the art and interior design worlds. Her background also gives her a deep understanding of craftsmanship, presentation, and the emotional resonance of detail – all integral to NATURAL CURIOSITIES’ success.
With Sera’s leadership and Christopher as Creative Director, the company is deepening its partnerships and broadening its reach. Together they will run it and shape what it becomes.
And now three of their five children will join them. Khefri and India, both in their twenties, grew up inside the creative life of this family. They will serve as Showroom Managers for the New York flagship.
From an early age, their lives were immersed in the daily rhythm of the studio, apprenticing in the creative process alongside their father—de-collaging antique papers, applying gold leaf by hand to works in progress, and even bringing their own cash register to help run sample sales from the studio floor as children. They experienced the world through a creative lens, shaped by time spent as a family exploring—from mineral-rich mines and hidden caves to beaches in search of sand dollars and sea fans.
“We didn’t simply grow up around NATURAL CURIOSITIES —it shaped how we see,” say Khefrie and India. “Our earliest experiences of beauty, nature, and composition came through this work. It instilled in us a lasting curiosity and a deep respect for the natural world and the art of making. Returning now feels both natural and deeply meaningful—like coming home to something that has always been part of who we are.”
Their brother Jude will soon join the business, as well.
“I am living the dream,” Christopher says. “They grew up inside the work. Their hands are crafted into it, their eyes helped shape it. My family brings the new generation of wisdom. That is everything.”
