Residential Process to Product Round Up
A few weeks ago, we launched an exciting two-part series on our social platforms called “Process to Product” and “On Display” featuring fabulous products from 200 Lex showrooms. We have enjoyed learning about the creative process behind the design of specific products and lines from the showrooms of 200 Lex. We are inspired by the skilled craftsmanship and details process it takes to create such beautiful products.
Seeing these products in various design projects exemplifies the rich relationship between designers and showrooms of 200 Lex. The story behind each product is as fascinating as the design process is crucial when completing a project.
The following showrooms, have an eclectic range of products and lines. Through highlighting each piece, we are able to get more in-depth understanding of the inspiration behind products.
Baker Furniture, Suite 300
The Jardin Chest embodies the whimsical foliage of a botanical garden,
re-imagined in white plaster. Inspiration for the Jardin Chest came from the captivating art found on the island of Phu Quoc, located off the coast of Vietnam. Wall sculpture displays and the grand architecture specifically inspired the door fronts of the chest.
FBC London, Suite 401
Prive Armour Chair from FBC London and Fiona Barratt Interiors, has an intricate pattern of the base is inspired by Ancient Roman jewelry. The hand carved and molded base is formed in a resin and passed on to the bronze foundry to be cast in bronze, using traditional technique. “Creating this piece was a real journey of exploration and discovery. The final product realized from the craftsmen, creative and skilled in their trades. Using a variety of production methods from technically advanced laser CNC machines to the ancient technique of bronze casting. The combination of both intertwined seamlessly to create a piece that represents the evolution of production methods.”
Wexler Gallery, Suite 413
Sleek and dynamic, Pangaea by Samuel Pawlak is designed to stand out as a true centerpiece. Comprised of a main table and multiple side tables, Pangaea is capable of endless arrangements. Like its supercontinental namesake, the tables fit together seamlessly into a single conglomeration, and can drift apart to fit the needs of any space. Made of fiberglass and composite acrylic, Pangaea is a prime example of how cutting-edge design software and pre-production techniques can achieve a finish that appears both hand-built and flawless. All models are made by hand, and made to order.
Fermob USA, Suite 414
Surprising Bar Stool and Teak Bar Stool a wire frame has fine slats with perfect curves. A sledge-style base to keep its feet on the ground. These are the fundamental features of the SURPRISING collection, which today offers a bar stool made of sheet steel, to climb even higher. SURPRISING is also available in a natural teak version. An exceptional wood, supplied for Fermob in keeping with commitments to the environment; this teak comes from sustainably managed forests. It is untreated and unoiled. Therefore, these are very natural slats for the bar stool, the low armchair and its footrest, in a mix of materials that provides warmth and comfortable seating.
Cosulich Antiques and Interiors, Suite 509
Contemporary Pair of Italian Gold, Brass, Black and White chests/side tables was designed by Fabienne Cosulich specifically for this project. It is entirely handmade showing high quality and elegance of execution. The surround in ivory white is decorated with a geometrical abstract pattern in black glass and the gold inserts are in sophisticated brass while all the edges of the drawer interiors are finished in gold mirror and room by Aline Matiska Interiors. On Display, the chests were incorporated in the Palacio Can Marques Hotel in Palma de Mallorca. Aline and Fabienne have been working on multiple high-end hospitality projects together.
Dennis Miller Associates, Suite 1210
The Kemizo Collection of tables which include dining, console, cocktail and side from Dennis Miller Associates by Altura Furniture. A marriage of angles, curves, shaped wood, and hand-hewn metal, the Kemizo Collection resonates a modern and streamlined complexity. The Kemizo design is a culmination of many of Altura’s collections combined into one: the base design of a diagonal version of the Offset, the inside radiused corners of the Verona, the profiles of the Roulette, and the metal inlay of the Fretwork. By blending these characteristics, the Kemizo collectively transforms into its own unique persona.
Profiles, Suite 1211
The Strato Swivel Lounge Chair from the Michael Berman Collection is featured in this room by Dufner Heighes. Dufner Heighs has a longstanding, 21-year relationship with Profiles and the piece is featured in an New York Meatpacking Penthouse and featured in this Architectural Digest article.
Amuneal, Suite 1314
Custom Curved Collectors Back Bar Island with Mesh, featured in Cosmopolitan’s Vesper Bar in Las Vegas. This Curved Collector’s Shelving Unit Backbar includes lightbars, glass shelving and integrated televisions, all mounted to a Mesh Framework Bar Island. The inspiration Punch Architecture Designed the Amuneal Custom Backbar to fit the mid-century style of 007 for the Renovation of the Vesper at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. “Named after the legendary Vesper cocktail in the James Bond novel “Casino Royale,” Vesper Bar reflects the iconic mystery of 007 with modern décor, bold accents, and an innovative menu.”
Merida Studio, Suite 1605
Weaving Atelier Collection, the Sahara 429 in Saffron of the Atelier. Inspired by geography, archeology, and the history of the origins of the earth and weaving. These American-made rugs incorporate earth tones and traditional weaving techniques with modern yarn twists and colors. On Display, the Sahara Rug was incorporated into the Lucas Studio project for the 2020 Kips Bay Decorators Showhouse in Palm Beach.
