On Wednesday November 13th, the 4th and 5th floor participating showrooms of the New York Design Center were buzzing with excitement as they kicked off an evening of design featuring special guest speakers and designer vignettes.
The theme of the evening was centered around “high tea” starting off in the Theodore Alexander showroom. Theodore Alexander hosted their special guest Mr. Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. Earl Spencer presented the Althorp Living History collection which is a collection of pieces created from the archives of Althorp House, his current home.
Afterwards guests enjoyed the Live on 5 event, which continued on the high tea theme. Participating showrooms included: Metropolitan Lighting, Currey & Co., Cosulich Antiques and Interiors, CF Modern, Wood & Hogan, Cliff Young and Tucker Robbins, on the 4th floor. Each showroom teamed up with a talented designer to create a “high tea” themed tablescape which was a vignette that was a combination of the designer’s own style in conjunction with the aesthetic and style of each participating showroom. The brilliant designers created show stopping vignettes that were all exceptionally beautiful and unique to each showroom. Participating designers included: Brock Forsblom, Stefan Steil, Patrick J. Hamilton, Fete Home, Jocelyn Chan, Amy Kalikow and Sourabh Gupta.
