What’s New for High Point Market June 2021
It’s that time of year again! After a year away, High Point Market Spring 2021 will once again provide a the opportunity to preview latest from the 200 Lex Family of brands exhibiting. As the design industry gears up to travel south, read on to see what’s new and soon heading to the showrooms of The New York Design Center!
Arteriors
With a striking portfolio of architecturally significant residential and hospitality projects, Workshop/APD has brought a similar attention to scale and materials to their very first lighting collection with Arteriors. The 48-piece collection includes a variety of lighting and sculptural accessories (pendants, lamps, mirrors, candle holders, vases and more). The brand will also introduce its spring/summer 2021 collection featuring more than 350 new designs. Arteriors new designs will be on display throughout market in the Arteriors showroom in the Commerce & Design building, Floor 1.
Baker
Building upon a decades-long partnership, designer Barbara Barry and the Baker family of brands will introduce two new furniture collections featuring indoor and outdoor designs. Baker (319 N. Hamilton St.) will also introduce its new upholstered bed collection offering 16 original bed collections, and McGuire will introduce a 33-piece furniture collection designed by Thomas Pheasant inspired by Japanese history, culture, art, and design.
Currey & Company
This June, Currey & Company will showcase additions to three lines, two of which were created in collaboration with interior designers Jamie Beckwith and Aviva Stanoff and the third, “The Mister M Collection,” conceived by Currey’s President and CEO, Brownlee Currey, and International Consultant, Jean-Charles Chappuis. The existing collection extensions include lighting, furniture and decorative accesories. The brand will also debut the Vintage Artifacts and One-of-a-Kind Collection including a range of quirky decorative objects sourced from India, China, Thailand and more. Over the years, the Currey & Company design team has purchased antiques to use in displays in the company’s showrooms, as well as treasures for pure inspiration. The antiques always drew much attention from customers, who wanted to know where they could buy, and now for the first time, they can. On view in IHFC, M110.
Hickory Chair
For over twenty years, Atlanta designer Suzanne Kasler has created warm, inviting environments that strike a balance between elegant, traditional design and practical comfort. She has collaborated with Hickory Chair to bring that same spirit to her extensive line of furniture, Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair and will celebrate the Haut Marais Collection, named for a historic district in Paris, at High Point Market this June. The new collection is a sophisticated blend of intricately detailed, hand-crafted wood products, as well as tailored upholstered pieces, and draws on the designer’s love of architecture, southern charm, and of course, France. Interlude Home
Interlude Home opens its doors to the brands new High Point showroom in the Hamilton Wrenn District, styled to showcase its latest designs. New introductions will be showcased along with new European luxe fabrics sand inspirational vignettes. Visit the new showroom space at 242 N. Hamilton Street.
Julian Chichester
Julian Chichester reinvents traditional forms to create modern masterpieces – new originals with historical provenance – with unique materials, artisan finishes, and a modern English sensibility. For Market this spring, the brand will showcase a variety of introductions including an aged mirror panel surrounded by an asymmetrically curved frame, a quirky drinks cabinet wrapped in Indian Rosewood and a striking triptych coffee table in high gloss teal. Kravet
Kravet introduces its latest collection with designer Linherr Hollingsworth, Boheme II. This collection of fabric, trim and wallcovering picks up where Hollingsworth left off with her first lifestyle collection, rooted in classicism with a soulful vibe. Boheme II shares a similar foundation with more depth and a focus on art and architecture with a freer hand. Wonderfully luxe and modern, this collection is relaxed and relevant to today’s interiors. For June market, Kravet will also showcase the Furniture Home Office and Furniture ICreate collections, both fully customizable to fit a designer’s project needs. Leftbank Art
Interior designer Corey Damen Jenkins has teamed up with Leftbank Art to debut a personal project, a new art series titled “Mouths Wide Open.” Including a range of evocative lead-and-ink hand-drawn portraits, the series features people of different races, religions, ethnicities, and ages all unified by one physical common denominator: the mouths open – and the disparate emotions fueling the facial expressions. Jenkins’ work will be on display June 5-9 in the High Point Market Leftbank Art showroom, IHFC H304.
Ngala Trading Co.
Among the must visit vendors at Market Square & Elm (200 W. Commerce Ave) is Ngala Trading Co. (Suite G7015). For June market, Ngala will debut its lighting collaboration with South African based Clarisse Design Lighting which includes a curated selection of leather pendant lighting.
Sedgwick & Brattle
Thom Filicia is partnering with Feizy Rugs to launch a new rug collection that focuses on texture and features a mostly neutral palette occasionally energized by pops of color. See the collection debut onsite at market in the Feizy Rugs showroom, Market Square – 135, floor. Shuttle Stop 29 (red line). Theodore Alexander
Theodore Alexander is set to debut over 130 new handcrafted pieces at June 2021 market, including the newest collection: NOVA. The pieces in the NOVA collection are bursting with originality from the instantly recognizable hand-carved starburst and herringbone parquetry to bookmarked veneers with fine verde bronzed hardware hand-forged in the Theodore Alexander foundry. Ed Teplitz, President of Theodore Alexander adds, “Each piece has a strong personality that is reflected in its unique stature and beautifully designed details. NOVA is one-of-a-kind and we are looking forward to seeing how the collection is received.” In addition to the new NOVA designs, Theodore Alexander is continuing to offer new inspirations from the AlthorpLiving History, Stephen Church, Theodore Alexander Collections, and Ralph Lauren Home.
