Dennis Miller New York’s Next Chapter
Justin Orlansky, the new owner of Dennis Miller New York has big plans for the future of the iconic 200 Lex multi-line showroom. In a recent interview with Business of Home, he discussed his purchase of the company and what is next for the brand.
Justin Orlansky started with Dennis Miller in 2010 and quickly helped to revamp the showroom experience by elevating the look and feel of the space: “My attitude was, sure, we’re a trade company and we have expensive items that designers will like no matter what the showroom looks like; but I knew from a retail standpoint that the price point is commensurate with the experience. If you’re showing expensive things, you need to have a gorgeous showroom to show off these items to prove their worth.”
In his time since, 11 years and counting, Orlansky has worked closely with Dennis Miller to broaden the showroom’s profile and grow sales. “Last year was our best year ever,” Orlansky says. As of late fall 2020, Justin Orlansky acquired Dennis Miller New York and is now president and CEO. Moving forward, Miller will maintain an active role in the company as a consultant.
So, what’s next with Justin Orlansky at the helm? To further expand the reputation of the brand: “What I’m really pushing is [for] our showroom not to just be known for furniture or the Dennis Miller brand, but to be known as a lighting destination and fabric destination. [My goal is] one-stop shopping.”
“I am grateful to Dennis, and humbled, for the extraordinary faith and confidence that he has shown in me and my abilities. Dennis has given the design world an immense legacy that I look forward to continuing,” Orlansky concludes.
