Women in Design
Paving the Way with Julia Noran Johnston
The New York Design Center is constantly inspired by the talented women in our design industry. There are so many pieces to the puzzle that make the Interior Design Industry what we know and love. Throughout this year’s Women in Design Celebration, we have heard from designers, founders, architects, builders, collectors, marketing and PR executives, and now we add the missing piece- journalism! This week, we sat down with the founder of Business of Home, Julia Noran Johnston, at The Gallery at 200 Lex.
Julia Noran Johnston founded Business of Home in 2009, and has made it the go-to business publication covering the home furnishings and interior design industry. She has worked in the shelter category for 25 years, starting out at Architectural Digest and Veranda. She is a member of the Design Leadership Network and the Decorators Club, and lives New York City with her husband and two children.
